I Want to Be a Businesswoman When I Grow up
The idea for this photoshoot was imagined by Andrew Zachery, a newly graduated hair stylist. Andrew is inspired by all things funky, and out of the box. Originally, we thought to do your typically put together, clean photoshoot to showcase his talents with celebrity inspired hairstyles, but this quickly turned to, “Why don’t we create a whole story line?”
The first portion of the photoshoot is inspired by the curiosity of childhood. Dani Scheerhorn, our model, represents a little girl who looks up to her parents and is eager to be just like them when she grows up. Andrew writes in the caption of his instagram post, “Using her imagination while playing dress up in dad’s clothes, going through mom’s makeup, and making a total mess. Even if it leads to a time out, she don’t care. At the end of the day, she just wants to be a businesswoman when she grows up.”
The second portion of the photoshoot showcases the now grown up, tired, overworked corporate businesswoman. Andrew describes this portion of the photoshoot by saying, “…or does she. She’s had no sleep, no shower, no free time in days. Business meetings are so boring, corporate is driving her insane. Regretting the decision of wanting to be a businesswoman.” She is fed up with corporate life and just can’t wait to quit.
Finally, the businesswoman is over it. She’s gone mad. Feral. She’s letting her bad bitch energy shine.
This photoshoot was a big step out of my comfort zone. Being a wedding photographer, I don’t always get to let all of my creativity out. This session was the perfect way to get my creative ideas flowing and pushed me to capture emotions in a way I rarely get to do. I am so excited to hopefully continue to create more sessions such as this one!
